ABOUT ABOUT
Former member of The Idan Raichel Project, Ravid Kahalani, leads Israel’s hottest new world music project on their debut U.S. tour. In their first ever Philadelphia area performance, Yemen Blues takes the stage and gives hope to Israel’s youth-left-behind, with their stunning melodic sound and unforgettable performance stylings. Hands down, the coolest band at this year's WOMEX World Music Expo in Copenhagen, with a sound that's unlike anything heard before, Yemen Blues will appear in concert, Tuesday, March 1 at 8:00 PM in the stunningly beautiful Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 North Broad Street, Philadelphia —all for a great cause.

GROUP RATES

Regular Tickets: 5 or More, $25...

Student Tickets: 5 or More, $10...

Yemen Blues is the powerful outcome of Ravid Kahalani’s musical journey from his Yemenite roots to western influences. Yemen blues is an original and fascinating cross road of traditional Yemenite melodies with the world of blues, jazz and funk. The flavors of West African roots and enhanced modern compositions are brought together to create a breathtaking experience through a mixture of beautiful complex grooves.

“Ofanim and Yemen Blues are the perfect fit for an exciting partnership," explains Paul Silberberg, President, Friends of Ofanim. "Ravid Kahalani’s idea that, ‘no matter where you come from, your language is my language,’ is reflected in Ofanim’s mission of inclusiveness through education... whether we are rich or poor, from cities or the countryside, we are one nation.”

Tickets can be purchased securely online here or by check payable to "Friends of Ofanim" c/o Ari Kushner, Director, Friends of Ofanim, 308 E. Lancaster Ave., Suite 110, Wynnewood, PA 19096. Or email [email protected], or call Ari at 610.896.7000.

This multicultural event will energize and excite a range of diverse communities and showcase an eclectic set of tastes and genres, while benefiting children in need at the same time. To learn more about Yemen Blues, visit www.yemenblues.com.
